Prophetic Dream 2/14/2010
I am standing in a room with cardboard boxes scattered around. Gazing out a window when all of a sudden, the Lord appears.
Out of the silence, He speaks...
"Will you collect sleeping bags for the homeless?"
I woke up with those words reverberating through me. I went for my morning run meditating on what I had just been asked to do.
You know how you feel when you get home from a trip. There's nothing like being in your own bed. There's no greater feeling of dignity & security in the world than your own intimate place of comfort and rest.
Some time ago, Rose and I went to the Annapolis homeless shelter & met with the administrator, Howard. He gave us a tour of the facility and graciously answered all of our questions. We went there because we always knew, that in some way, we were called to help.
We also knew, that regardless of what the center provides, many of these precious people will not come in for the night, even if it means weathering the elements. Why? Because a space to call your own, a place to be alone may be the only thing you have left. And to leave it, would be to lose it.
Our call, our primary mandate, is to facilitate the Presence of Holy Spirit to all people from all walks of life.
We want to go where the homeless live. Under the bridge, at the cemetery, at the parks..wherever...to deliver these bags.

Faith, indeed has a look that is impossible to resist. It has a sound that
resonates like a lightning strike. It feels like a deep burning of fire and smells like
the hope of tomorrow's dawn.
Faith looks like you & me hearing God & taking bold steps into unknown territory
when everything around you screams not to. Faith doesn't make natural sense.
It's not designed to. It wouldn't be Faith, it would simply be logic, right?
